Atlanta Braves 7, New York Mets 1

Paul Byrd (7-5) pitched 8 strong innings as the Braves won the nightcap of the doubleheader 7-1. JD Drew had a big night going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs. He had 6 hits on the day including the first game.

Byrd gave up a solo homer to the first batter of the game, Mike Cameron, but he had no further problems. He threw 100 pitches and ate some innings to help the bullpen get some much needed rest. He pitched 8 innings and allowed one run on 7 hits, 0 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Chris Reitsma pitched a perfect 9th.

Down 1-0, the Braves scored 4 times in the 3rd inning and never looked back as they added runs in the 4th, 7th, and 9th innings. They did it without a home run in the game.

Hitting Stars: Drew who was 4 for 5 with the 3 RBIs. Nick Green, Chipper Jones, Adam LaRoche, and Eddie Perez all had 2 hits. LaRoche added 2 RBIs.
