Philadelphia Phillies 5, Atlanta Braves 3

In the first game of the doubleheader, Jim Thome hit a 8th inning 3-run homer off of Tom Martin to give the Phillies a come from behind win. I didn't get to watch this game, and I won't get to watch the 2nd game either although I am able to listen to it on the radio. Jaret Wright apparently bummed his way through 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, 1 walk, and 8 strikeouts. It took him 110 pitches to get through 6 innings. Chris Reitsma (6-4) had allowed Martin's inherited runners to reach base, and he picked up the loss. Antonio Alfonseca, Kevin Gryboski, and Roman Colon had scoreless outings.

Hitting Stars: There weren't many, but Adam LaRoche was 1 for 3 with his 10th homer of the season. It was a 2 run shot in the 5th inning.
