Atlanta Braves 8, Colorado Rockies 1

I didn't get to watch or listen to this game. Chipper Jones had a whale of a game, hitting 2 home runs and getting 5 RBIs. He now has 24 homers and 69 RBI on the season. He was 2 for 4. He's been on fire since the All-Star break as John Smoltz predicted, and his numbers are vastly improved.

Other hitting stars included JD Drew who went 3 for 4 returning to the lineup a day after cutting his head in the dugout. Marcus Giles and Julio Franco were each 2 for 4.

John Thomson (10-8) pitched 7 innings, allowing one run on 5 hits, a walk, and 5 strikeouts. Antonio Alfonseca and recently called up Roman Colon each pitched a scoreless inning to finish the game.
