Lights out

In the bottom of the 5th inning with the Braves leading 3-1, a generator blew or something and half the power in the stadium went out. I think I remember seeing that maybe only one other time before while watching a game. The FSN announcers say it's going to be about 10 minutes before the power is restored.

It's an official game...if play would be forced to stop, the Braves would win. However, they should be able to resume play. I think that everyone would like to see them play 9 innings (or more) anyway.

Well, they got the game started before I finished the entry. It apparently affected Santos, as the Braves loaded the bases, and Charles Thomas delivered with a two-out-two-RBI single. Santos came out of the game, and Jeff Bennett came in to try and hold them. He got a ground ball to 3rd, but Helms threw it away and 2 more runs scored. It's now 7-1 Braves.

I hope the delay doesn't hurt Hampton much, but he's got a 6 run lead to work with.

Hampton ended up giving up a leadoff double in the top of the 6th, and Bobby Cox made a smart move to take him out then. Kevin Gryboski came on and got out of the inning with no damage done.

Enough in-game summary for now. I'll post a recap either tonight or in the morning/early afternoon tomorrow.
